Denver Day of Rock to Benefit Colorado Food Bank

One of the great events in Denver is coming up at the end of May. The Denver Day of Rock on May 26, 2012 will feature dozens of great bands jammin’ on five stages in downtown Denver. The free event is presented by Concerts for Kids that supports organizations focusing on kids’ needs.

Starting at 2:30 p.m. and going until the moon passes through at 9:30 p.m., this day will be a rock music fan’s dream come true. Included in the line-up are Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, Fishbone, Jeff Brinkman Band and the legendary Toto, famous for such hits such as “Rosanna” and “Africa.”

Concerts for Kids is a nonprofit that puts on events in Denver to raise money for a variety of kid-centered projects. In 6 years, the group has raised almost $1.7 million. In addition to money raised for kids, this year the 3rd Annual Denver Day of Rock will benefit Denver’s hungry as well. Concert-goers are asked to bring non-perishable canned food that will go to the Food Bank of the Rookies. There will be bins on 16th Street to donate the food.
